Hi! I’m Nic, and I’m excited to be one of your coaches!
I’ve been a member for over 5 years, and I first started Crossfit here at Valesco. I completed my CFL1 in Feb 2026 and now coach across a few gyms in Bristol.
I wasn’t at all sporty growing up, and my journey into fitness started as an adult. I was often picked on for being bad at sports and spent years in Saturday detention instead of showing up for P.E. (sorry Mum). Dance & drama was my thing, and after leaving school I found contemporary dance in Pole Fitness. I became obsessed, qualified as a L2 Pole instructor and coached classes for two years. Later, I tried bouldering and found my second love. I then spent 6 years combatting my fear of heights, getting strong up walls and volunteering running climbing sessions for children with disabilities.
During Covid, I came across videos of women competing in CrossFit and was in awe of how insanely strong they were. I tried a few CrossFit-style workouts with a friend, and when Covid restrictions lifted, booked a taster with Valesco and I was hooked.
More than 5 years later, and I'm passionate that CrossFit can improve so much more than just fitness. It’s completely changed my confidence, mindset and lifestyle – learning mental endurance I didn’t know I was capable of, wanting to fuel my body to lift heavy weights, rather than for a weight on the scales, and swapping Saturdays hungover, for Saturday WODs with friends (well.. mostly). I love that there’s always a new skill to learn, a new PB to chase, and the best community to cheer you on whilst you do it.
I love seeing members confidence in class grow, giving a cue that makes a movement suddenly ‘click’ and if people are bopping to my tunes inbetween lifts – that's a big win. If I’m not in the gym, I’m cooking dinners with friends, dancing at a music event, or away in the van.
If you’ve made it this far and see me around the gym - come say hi!
