Emma Leigh Coach
Hey, I’m Emma.
I started CrossFit in 2012 when I was living in New Zealand. A friend persuaded me to go on a taster session to something I’d never heard of, but from that very first session I knew I was hooked!
I was in my mid-thirties when I started and had never done anything like Olympic Weightlifting or trained with free weights. I loved (and still do love) the fact I was learning new skills and movements like Oly lifting and gymnastics (I hadn’t done a handstand since I was about 10!).
You are never too old to start CrossFit, everything we do in a class is scalable so it can be adapted to suit your current fitness levels and ability. As a coach I love seeing people achieve something they once thought was impossible!
My fave movements are anything lifting related and burpees. I enjoy competing regularly as it keeps me on my toes. My interests lie in practical nutrition and programming.
Along with CrossFit Level 2, I hold British Weightlifting Level 2 (Club Coach) and Precision Nutrition quals.
